Getting started
Quickstart
From nothing to a public portal where your customers vote, and hear back when it ships. No credit card, no volume caps, and nothing to install on your side.
1. Open a workspace
Enter an email on the sign-in page. You get a one-time link; following it creates the workspace on first sign-in. There is no password to choose and no plan to pick.
The link is valid for an hour and works once. Ask for another if it expires.
2. Your portal is already live
A public board, a roadmap and a changelog exist from the start, on their own URL:
https://catchloop.co/w/<your-slug>
https://catchloop.co/w/<your-slug>/roadmap
https://catchloop.co/w/<your-slug>/changelog
Set your name, slug, logo and accent colour before you share it: see your portal. The slug is the public URL, so it is worth choosing once.
3. Start collecting
Share the portal link. It works immediately, with nothing to integrate: put it in your app's menu, your help center or your next release note.
Anyone can read the board. To vote, post or comment, a customer enters their email and follows a one-time link, then lands back on the request they were on. One account, one vote. See customer accounts.
Already keep a list somewhere? Import it so the board does not start empty.
4. Set a status
Every request has one of five statuses: New, Planned, In progress, Shipped and Not planned. The roadmap is built from them, so moving a request is all it takes to update it. When you turn one down, write the reason: it is shown on the request page.
5. Close the loop
Publish a changelog entry linked to the requests it delivers. They move to Shipped, and everyone who asked is emailed once. That mail is the reason the whole thing exists: it is the moment a customer learns that asking worked. Changing a status by hand emails nobody, so publishing is the one announcement. See announcements.
